Common name:Desert Date Palm
Botanical name:Phoenix dactylifera

This tree, the source of edible dates, will grow up to 80' tall and has greyish-green leaves on a slender trunk. It does well in desert and ocean gardens and those in between. This palm is often used in formal groupings around large buildings.

This clumping dwarf variety of Agapanthus has green, strap-like, evergreen leaves. Clusters of blue, oval shaped flowers appear in summer on top of stalks, making this plant about 2' tall. This dependable plant can be grown in sun or partial sun. It is drought tolerant in coastal areas but will appreciate occasional watering in inland warm areas, especially during the summer. This perennial attracts butterflies.

Dazzler Flax is a New Zealand flax with large reddish leaves from 3'-6' in height.

This clumping perennial will grow less than 1' tall and has narrow, blue-green leaves. Clusters of lavender flowers bloom in spring and summer. Leaves and flowers have a distinct onion or garlic smell if crushed.
