Botanical name:Pinus mugo

Pinus mugo is an evergreen tree or shrub that grows slowly. Needles are 2", dark green, stout, and crowded. Cones are 1"-2", oval, and tawny to dark brown. Generally a bushy, twisted, somewhat open pine.

Gazania rigens is a clumping or spreading plant grown for colorful daisies over long bloom season. Tolerates seacoast conditions. Grows well in most soil conditions, and needs only occasional water once established (2-3 times per month).

The "Double Sunburst' is a wonderful cultivar and a showy, southern U.S. native. Golden yellow double flowers on 36" tall bushy plants bloom from June to September in full sun and average to dry soils. It is wonderful in a dried flower arrangment. Oleander

Botanical name:Nerium oleander

Oleander is an evergreen shrub with moderate to fast growth. Leaves are narrow, 4"-12" long, dark green, leathery, and glossy, attractive in all seasons. Flowers are in clusters on branch ends; blooms from late spring through fall.

Lush green ground cover can replace traditional lawn areas.

Water Saving Tip:

Change spray sprinklers to low-flow bubbler or drip systems. Shrubs and trees are ideal candidates for this type of irrigation because the water is applied directly to the root zones.
